Bad Breath Causes a Stink with Single Women
Bad breath is the biggest turn off for women and instantly prevents a second date, according to new research.
The stinking statistics, released by Diva, a leading provider of car insurance for women, reveal that 97% of women would not go on a second date with a man who had bad breath. And nearly half of women would be reluctant to go on a second date with a man who had bad teeth.
Surprisingly, 41% of women were prepared to accept men who eat with their mouths open, believing this is a behaviour that could be changed.
Research into the dating habits of 2,030 single women uncovered that 82% ladies said that a good first impression is vital with 61% instantly judging a man by his appearance and only 32% by his personality.
Women weren’t too keen on short men either, with only 4% saying they would enter a relationship with a guy shorter than themselves. Long fingernails grated on women’s opinions of men, with two thirds of saying that they could only date a man who had clean, short nails.
Only 14% would date a man with appalling dress sense. Other major turn offs listed were hairy noses, body odour and ear wax.
Of the 2,030 women in the survey 72% had been on a blind date in the past two years, of which 91% were labelled as ‘disasters’.
Rebecca Corbett, Marketing Manager for Diva Insurance, said: “For millions of single women across the country, finding the right man isn’t easy. However, it appears that a lot of women are not prepared to settle for second best and even the slightest flaw is enough to put them off!”
